Ruby/Rails Developer | RailsConf 2023 Program Committee | Community Builder
I've been working predominantly with Ruby/Rails for the past two years, after going back to Epicodus boot camp in Portland in 2020. Since pivoting from many years working in the hospitality industry as a bar and events manager, I have been a speaker at ACT-W's 2022 conference, I have volunteered at RubyConf 2022 Houston, and I have served on the RailsConf 2023 Program Committee. I also work with my code school alma mater and provide professional mentorship. I am excited to continue growing technically, building into the Ruby/Rails community, and helping non-traditional, early career developers get into & thrive in tech.
Creative, Resourceful, and Resilient
An Educator turned Software Engineer, I blend the skills I gained from teaching and my passion for coding to create unique solutions to everyday problems.
Did you know that I’m the perfect person to help your engineers share their stories through developer-focused content? I might not be an advanced developer (yet), but I’m highly technical and have a knack for understanding and communicating technical topics to various audiences. I love talking to engineers and helping them find the story they want to tell — whether it’s through interviews or supported writing and editing processes. I’d absolutely love to build and grow your company’s technical content department. If you want that too, get in touch!
I'm a passionate, detail-oriented software engineer with a lifelong love of cooking and science! Before making the pivot into tech, I worked as a barista and an ice cream maker for a local shop. This background in customer service instilled in me a strong sense of empathy and a methodical, conscientious work ethic that has been invaluable to my success as a software engineer. I decided to pursue a new career in tech because of the endless opportunities for learning, and I am excited to join a team who values collaboration and learning as much as I do!
Endlessly curious about new features and new technologies
Full-stack software engineer and former electrical engineer, devout student and practitioner of both spoken and computer languages. Experienced in web development and data management from my time at Flatiron's software engineering program. Practiced in project development and team working from my time as an Electrical Engineer.
Avid Learner and Problem Solver
As a back-end software developer, my five years of experience in brokerage services and four years in hospitality have equipped me with valuable collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills. I have honed my ability to work in a team, effectively communicate complex ideas, and solve problems creatively. Leveraging these skills, I am committed to delivering high-quality, efficient software solutions that meet clients' needs. Let's connect and see how I can help you achieve your software development goals.
As a results-driven individual with a background in software development and public health specializing in biostatistics, what I love most about tech is forming meaningful connections. Other skills I bring include detail-oriented, organizer, problem-solver, and team collaborator. I am passionate about both med-tech and green-tech.
I am a front-end developer. My mission is to create highly intuitive products with a keen eye for detail, functionality, and a cohesive user experience. In my storied history, I have been a filmmaker, a professional touring keyboard player in a funk/soul band, an audio engineer and producer, a video editor, a motion graphics designer, an AV technician, a videographer, and an instructor. Though I loved working in all these fields, I often found myself wishing I could go deeper, build the software that interfaces with the camera, engineer the programs that help us create art, open up the 1950's Hammond organ and rebuild it to make it function like new. When I discovered coding as a real path I could take, my eyes were opened to a world where I can take all my creative skills and merge them with my technical skills. It is a joy to build something from the ground up using something as abstract as lines of characters. When it comes to software development, I am hooked. Aside from my professional work, I am an avid science and sci-fi nerd and I play a talkbox. Let's chat about science and music!
Creative frontend developer, inspired by lived experience to improve accessibility and inclusivity in tech.
My background is in creative writing, editing, teaching, animal care, and customer support. I made the pivot into tech because I wanted to pursue work that would be intellectually challenging and a bit creative, while providing more stability than I was able to find as a writer. I dove into frontend development entirely unprepared, and discovered that I truly love coding. It lights up my brain in many of the same ways writing does, and there is always a new thing to learn. I completed an 8 month, intensive, project-based, frontend development program at Turing School of Software and Design, which is the first fully accredited bootcamp. Since graduating, I have also worked as an apprentice software engineer at Kin Insurance.
Deeply loyal software developer with a passion for constant growth and improvement.
Full Stack Developer | AWS Engineer || JS | Node | Python | Docker | GPT-3
I love solutions. I've been solving problems with technology for a long time. My current favorite tools are software and Cloud. My name is Andrew Goldstein. I am a passionate tech fanatic. I love empowering people I meet with new ways to connect, market, and get things done.
Creative thinker, challenge seeker, problem solver.
I love building full stack web apps with nodejs and finding solutions that allow developers to safely and securely deploy code to production, also interested in providing scalability and high availability for multiple applications using shared resources.
I am a creative developer that loves working with new teams
Front-End Developer | Former Film Production Technician
I’ve always enjoyed collaboratively working to solve technical challenges. This is one aspect that drew me to working on the production side of the entertainment industry as a camera operator. For the last five years, my day-to-day involved adapting to ever-changing time constraints and technical requirements, while maintaining a calm and creative headspace for collaborating with my peers. After five tough-but-rewarding years, I decided that I wanted to continue leveraging my creativity in a fast-paced, technical career, but in an industry where I could have more control over my work. Having ownership over my contributions to a team is huge for me, and I’m excited to start working in an Agile workplace that can support that. I believe my experience as a self-starter in media production and curiosity for all things technical has readied me for my next chapter as a full-time front-end junior software developer. If your organization is looking for a software engineer with a strong background in media and technical teamwork, I’d love the opportunity to connect! Please reach out to me here and we can arrange a time to talk.
Back End Software Developer
Environmentalist, educator, world traveler, music lover, collaborator, lifelong language learner, running enthusiast, aspiring paella chef, 6th grade Spelling Bee champion, teacher, student, gardener and Peace Corps volunteer. I'm an enthusiastic and resilient developer with a focus on backend engineering, Ruby on Rails and creating and consuming APIs. Prior to software development, I worked in the educational and environmental sectors, teaching languages (English, Spanish and French) and ecology, and conducting trainings and intensive projects based on environmental, health and social issues. I made the switch to software development born from the desires to grow personally, to have a larger impact through tech, and to further challenge myself professionally and intellectually. Whether fleshing out the bigger picture, or deep in the weeds of a complicated feature, I love the process of researching and implementing quality code and learning from developers from all paths to discover and implement new ways to do something, and to built and maintain something great. My experiences collaborating with others and working to solve ambiguous, complex issues as an educator and Peace Corps volunteer, my lifelong pursuit of learning, puzzling, and finding solutions, and my passion for making a difference in the lives of others are just a small part of what I have to offer. If you would like to share experiences or connect, please reach out and let's arrange a time to meet!
