I am a Full-stack developer with over five years of experience developing in Ruby on Rails. I first took up web development in 2013 after exiting a startup I founded, where I worked as the product manager. After working closely with engineers, I wanted to deepen my technical skills and learn how to build products from the ground up. Over the last few years I have built and deployed multiple projects.

I started my programming path by completing Harvard's CS50 - An Introduction to Computer Science in 2019.

I'm a full-stack software engineer looking for my second SE role. In my first role I worked on internal and customer-facing applications at the Church Pension Group that provides services to more than 30,000 people and institutions affiliated with The Episcopal Church. Previously, I ran two flagship developer conferences for Droidcon (world’s largest Android developer conference series) and was in charge of overall project management, developer community outreach and event logistics. And even before that, I taught English as a second language!

Prior to discovering my passion for writing code, I worked for 10+ years in the urban planning and economic development sector. Through roles in nonprofits, private firms, academic research, and consulting, I gained a deep appreciation for the power of data - which inspired me to expand my technical skillset and pursue my next career step in software development. In 2021, I started The Odin Project’s full-stack Ruby on Rails curriculum. I'm excited to contribute to growing products and teams through building and maintaining web applications.

Hi! I'm seeking roles in development or as a technical solutions engineer. I have over 20 years of experience in leadership, education, and customer-facing roles serving all ages from youth to adults. 10+ of those years were spent in hospitality with a focus on wine. I freelance as a wine instructor with my own curated curricula using technology and digital means as my education platforms. In my spare time, I volunteer teaching dance to youth and adults of all dance and fitness levels. Learning code has opened another creative avenue for me in my pursuit to help people better navigate our daily lives.

I come with over a decade of experience including IT infrastructure engineering, engineering management, and product management. While I am currently managing the IT ops, products, and compliance at a small Tier 3 data center, I am looking forward to swing the pendulum back to engineering with an interest on systems programming. I have used a handful of programming languages, primarily in DevOps-related work, and I am currently teaching myself Rust. I would love to start in a remote position which would involve a significant amount of work in Rust. I would also really welcome an opportunity where I can learn to work with things closer to metal or OS (e.g., no_std, networking). I shall be sure to bring all of my diverse experience, remote-readiness, enthusiasm, and loyal team spirit to the table from day one. I spent over ten years as a beverage salesman in four different states ranging from health beverages to alcoholic items. I had a eureka moment, at the prime age of 28, to start with Flatiron Software Development and follow my true passion. I have been focusing on sharpening my React skills.
